7th Pay Commission: Due to ongoing requests to enhance the dearness allowance from the Government of India, the central view of the Modi government has been to raise the dearness allowance for the employees and pensioners by three percent. The employees have received a big Diwali bonanza from the government recently. Considering the rising cost of living, the central government has increased dearness allowance for central employees and pensioners to help them financially. After this, some information is coming out that this DA can now be merged into the basic salary by the government.
DA increased from 50% to 53%
In the context of rising inflation, the central government has raised the DA rates for its employees and pensioners by a further 3%. On the occasion of Diwali, the government has extended a goodwill gesture of three percent DA enhancement to its retirees. Thus the dearness allowance of the employees and the pensioners has now raised from 50% to 53%. However, as per some media reports, it is being speculated that the government may take a policy decision to incorporate the enhanced dearness allowance into the salary structure. Let us know more about this information.
DA With Basic Salary
If we were to go by the discussions that were featured in the video report, it is indicated that before the dearness allowance revision [that is coming in January], it would be possible for the government to merge dearness allowance and dearness relief allowance within basic salary. However, up to now the concerned authorities have not fully disclosed this. The government still holds on to the previous stance of providing dearness allowance of more than 50 percent.
DA Of Central Employees
Recently, 3% DA has been given by the government with effect from July 1, 2024. As of now, it is said that the government may implement the new dearness allowance revision by the Festival of Holi. Well after 2024, now in 2025 the government will entertain discussions on dearness allowance in the new amendment. Numerous experts have come up with the opinion that the government will not integrate the dearness allowance with the basic pay at this time.
