Nowadays, it seems everyone has become an account holder. This means that banking has grown. Hence, let us tell you (Bank Account) that it is very necessary to have a bank account if one wishes to avail any scheme of the Central Government or State Government. Many individuals, however, hold accounts in more than one bank.
Meanwhile, a social media platform is on fire with a message that as per the recent policy change from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), a person will be charged if they have more than one Banking account. The veracity of this message was addressed by the Government of India, in its press agency Information Bureau.
After probing into the viral news related to Bank Account on Social Media, PIB Fact Check warned by clarifying the claims and the truth behind the news (Fact Check Hindi) on X. There is no need to create panic by sending such text messages. PIB has stated that there has been no such circular substituted during the completion of historical review of any board. Discouraging the general public, PIB warned, such misinformation must be disregarded!
Official dismissed the statement as untrue
This statement has been declared a hoax (maintaining accounts in two banks) by PIB. It stated that the Reserve Bank of India has not come up with any such policy.
